She's lost control
Feb. 2nd, 2012 03:13 pmThere is something wrong with the world. In my day-job, I regularly use two different IDEs: Visual Studio and Eclipse. Because I'm like that, I have Eclipse set up to use Emacs as its text editor.
So, I'm regularly switching between environments with different key-bindings. In one IDE, I can sort out the indentation on code by hitting Ctrl-I. In the other, it's Ctrl-K Ctrl-F.
Here's the weird bit: Ctrl-K Ctrl-F is Visual Studio.
To anyone who has no idea what I'm talking about, the correct response is "wow, that's quite surprising, you'd expect it to be the other way round". If you want to make a more oblique comment, you could say http://xkcd.com/378/.

Date: 2012-02-02 04:15 pm (UTC)Ctrl-K does seem to be some sort of general preface to say that you're going to be doing something code-formatty.
See also "comment out selected block": Ctrl-/ on Eclipsemacs, and Ctrl-K Ctrl-C on VS. (On Eclipsemacs, Ctrl-/ toggles, whereas you need Ctrl-K Ctrl-U to uncomment in VS...)
