A while ago I was grumbling about a black and white film which jammed my camera up. Having now got it developed, it turns out that it was rather worse than I thought, and the film actually never wound on properly at all. So each "frame" of the film contains sections of three or four intended photos.

Boots have developed the sections of film which weren't hopelessly overexposed, unexposed, or otherwise mangled, and chopped them up into fairly arbitrary frames. These are mostly useless, confused images of boats and trains and beaches.

However, one or two came out quite interesting. So, courtesy of an elderly SLR, a non-winding film, Boots, [livejournal.com profile] broadmeadow and his negative scanner, and a bit of imagination, I present:

The April '04 Alternative Camgoth Photo

That's an absolutely fantastic photo, even if it wasn't on purpose.

Thanks :)

Can you tell me who the girl standing next to [livejournal.com profile] surje is (both times :) Or the girl in the centre at the bottom ? I don't recognise either of them.

Think I've identified everyone else, though - even [livejournal.com profile] robinbloke, minimal though he is.

The girl in the hat is [livejournal.com profile] libellum, aka Helen, and centre bottom is Marcie.

Ah. Didn't recognise her without the cat :) Thanks.

Every time I reply to a comment on this thread, the comment gets posted twice, one of them with an extra bit saying "comment posted successfully".

In both cases I've deleted one of them. Can people see two comments from me above this one ? Does anyone know why duplicates are getting posted ? I had previously said I liked the new form-comment-posting thing, but now I'm not so sure :(

I see this comment, two others, and the remains of a deleted one.

I don't like the new comment posting form - I never use my default icon, so since it doesn't include an icon selection box, it just adds another click for me :-(

Now dear, don't get all testy on us.

Nope, only one copy for me (with "Comment posted successfully")! If you're getting confirmation emails, how many do you receive?

Nah, it seems to be a problem with form submission on my machine. Sometimes I seem to be submitting the form twice.

(And no, I'm not clicking the button twice.)

Any ideas from anyone gratefully received.

No ideas, but it seems to be happening to me too.

I'm sorry it's happening to you, but relieved it isn't just me :)

Before anyone else asks, no, it isn't limited to forms submitted to LJ.

Suggestions from one of our sysadmins is that it's a problem with one of the large hosting outfits having gone a bit wibbly. (They do some hosting for google, which explains why google vanished for some people a while ago.)

Or in other words: ignore it and it should go away soon.

Yeah! Liz has broke something again!!!!
Does anything of yours work properly?

Yes!
My pokey-in-the-eye finger works fine.

*poke*

And anyway, I refuse to be responsible for breaking the internet. I wasn't anywhere near it at the time!

If it makes you feel any better Discmen don't seem to like me - this one has developed exactly the same fault as the last one.
*sigh*

Ha! And you've got multiple comment disorder just like the rest of us.

Hopefully the new Discman is still young enough to be Taken Back and Grumbled About ?

The discman was bought on ebay and was working when I got it, so no I won't be getting my money back (though it did only cost me £5).
Suspect buying one from somewhere I CAN get my money back when this happens next time is probably a cunning plan even if it does cost me more money.

Probably worth it if they keep breaking :(

I've forgotten what was the problem with the old one. Is it something which might plausibly be caused by an aspect of your treatment of it ? Or just bad CD karma ?

From: [identity profile] venta.livejournal.com
Ah, having just seen your post, I remember.

At the risk of sounding patronising, you're sure it is the Discman itself, and not your headphones that's faulty ? Sounds like it might be loose connections in the headphone wires - and they're cheaper to replace than the whole thing!

From: [identity profile] snow-leopard.livejournal.com
I wish that was the answer!!!!
But no I tried that and it isn't.
*sigh*
You know anyone who wants two broken discmen?

Someone with a deranged creative side, and a strange taste in earrings ?

Not if the whole thing is five quid from eBay, they're not.

Well yes, but that comment was predicated on Snow_Leopard having just said she should get one from somewhere which would offer a refund in the even of Discman meltdown.

Do I mean predicated ? It sounds wrong.

Ah, I see. Sorry.

I think you do mean predicated.
