My phone's gone off to be Looked At (and, with luck, Seen To) by the nice phone shop people. I have a borrowed Nokia to tide me over til it comes back, and so I am temporarily bereft of numbers.
So: Please can anyone who sends me an sms sign their name to it ? Even if you *know* I've got your number ? Otherwise there's a strong chance I won't know who you are.
And no, I haven't broken my own phone. Well, only a little bit. It had a bizarre intermittent fault, which I have no doubt they won't be able to reproduce. So, they'll probably just flash it, and send it back to me with all my numbers wiped :(

Date: 2004-06-09 10:28 am (UTC)I had one a few years ago and well it was quite a skill to use it. My current Nokia (a 6310i) is lovely.

Date: 2004-06-09 11:41 am (UTC)I'm sorry, did you say insert random Motorola anecdote here? Well, ok then...
I used to work near Motorola's headquarters in Illinois, a site that covers an entire block. They have a strict no-smoking policy which, due to the Illinois law stating that you're responsible for the sidewalks adjacent to your property, extends to cover afore mentioned sidewalks.
The solution to this for the smokers at Motorola was the smokers' convoy. Every so often you'd see several cars packed full of smokers leave the Motorola site and slowly cruise round the roads circling it... the only way they could have fag breaks and comply with company policy.
I laughed at them.
