Tell me, o LJ, what are you wearing today?

I have on grey skinny jeans, grey boots, and a fluffy black and white jumper with a panda on it. I'm not usually a big fan of the animal jumper, but I think this one manages to be fluffy without being too cutesy. Also, I like pandas. I admire their approach to eye make-up.

I have accessorised with a selection of purple and yellow bruises on both wrists, and a small blue bruise on my forehead. Rapper is not a safe hobby. As usual, I have a silver 'E' pendant round my neck, and silver studs in my ears. I'm wearing a small analogue watch, because my smartwatch is bust at the moment.

On the way to the office I also had on one of those new-fangled lightweight down jackets that seem to be everywhere this winter. In a fashion-item-is-practical shocker, they're bloody great.

Your outfit sounds lovely in an 80s-retro way. Are you calling down jackets new-fangled?

Since you ask I'm wearing a dark red skirt, with medium-sized black polka dots and narrow black ribbons around its hem. The skirt was from Nomads. It's A line and knee length. Not really a winter skirt but it belongs in winter because it wants black accessories (today, long-sleeved t-shirt and cardigan; knee-length boots; medium-weight tights).

Down jackets have been around for ever, I grant you :) I think the particular style might be new, though, and the fact they are ubiquitous and affordable definitely is!

It is. For several years I'd been frustrated by trying to wear it in summer but it'd never worked. Pretty black clothes in hot weather? Fine on teenage goths but I'm more adult. Summer shoes or sandals with a knee-length A-line skirt? Fine on slim women, esp if the shoes have heels, but I'm rounder.

When I decided to call this a spring/autumn skirt to wear with boots and long sleeves my entire life was transformed.
