And the calendar pages blew
Nov. 1st, 2007 07:15 amWell. It's Novemeber. The clocks have gone back, Hallowe'en is past, it's getting chilly outside and
ebee is hassling the hell out of me.
You know what that means ?
Yup, it's time to declare open season on the Great Advent Game. Said Game requires you to manufacture some form of Advent Calendar and post it to an address I give you. In return, a handmade calendar from some far-flung corner will arrive for you in time for December 1st.
It's worked pretty well the past two years, when a dozen or so calendars have ended up travelling around in the post. I think the PO has let us down a few times (it lost my calendar, sent to Ebee, for a spectacularly long time last year).
I've had two 24-door calendars: A beautifully hand-drawn cartoon one from
thurisaz_art in 2005, and a monumentally unconventional and hilarious one from
dmh last year. I've heard tell of other people receiving flash web calendars, hot-drinks-based calendars, complicated mobiles and a variety of other stuff.
Signing up below doesn't commit you irretrievably - I'll mail people in a couple of weeks and see who's on course for completion and who's still interested in playing.

Please point any of your friends who're likely to be interested in this direction - the more themessier merrier. Anyone who can't fill in polls, please comment if you want to get in on the act.

Date: 2007-11-01 03:23 pm (UTC)It's a fantastic idea, and I'd love to participate, but I'm horribly busy through much of November, so I don't know if I'd be able to get the calendar to someone by December 1. Which I suppose is really the third poll-option, but... :)
