My advice to you: cease being my friend immediately.

It seems it has not been a good month for friends of mine. If you haven't been made redundant, split up with your partner or had some major household disaster, you've probably died, broken something serious like your back or pelvis, or been diagnosed with manic depression.

Anyone who has thus far escaped is forgiven (and potentially encouraged) to pretend with immediate effect that they have never known me. Of course, anyone who has had some form of life crisis in the last four weeks is also entirely welcome to blame it on me.

Hmmm, well I had a successful operation and gained a job this month (after being out of work since March 2002).

On the other hand they chipped my tooth and am having root canal work next month to fix it.

So swings and roundabouts.

I guess I got the good things as I'm not a friend of yours :-)

But seriously, for me, this year has been the best for ages. Perhaps you just have a strong karma polarisation field, so all your normally-lucky friends have had ill fortune befall them while all the normally-disastrous ones have had sudden runs of good luck?

Yes. I had a week like that a few months ago. I found out a friend had cut his throat, someone I vaguely know got a spear through his eye socket, another friend was hospitalised with a DVT in his leg, and I've a feeling there were a couple of other things as well. I think they're all doing fairly well now, though. Certainly very well considering what happened to them.

I have the world's best bruise on my leg from thwacking into a pub table somehow, breaking two glasses and all of this in front of the manager who looks suspiciously like Tony Blair. I doubt that it was your fault really though, but if it was I should say thankyou as the colours are fascinatingly pretty right now to the exztent that i even made Dr. Mitch take a photograph.
