I live in a second-floor flat, and outside on a little brick balcony I have some window boxes. Right now they're rather sad, owing to post-winter and me not having had time/legs to plant them up for spring. Dad is bringing me some strawberry plants for one, but I could put flowers in the other.

As regular readers might deduce, I am not in Manchester this weekend. I decided the sensible money was on not going to DERT. Mabel Gubbins are up there, and posting deeply terrifying photos on Facebook.
Edit There are DERT live streams broadcasting from 11, if you're interested! I had no idea. I am delighted; me and the Chromecast are settling in for the day :)

Good heavens. The tiny green shoot in East Window Box (mentioned in the previous post) is visibly bigger than it was at the time of last posting. If I had time to sit out on the balcony, I swear I could actually see the things growing.

Who knew seedlings were so exciting?

Don't you just hate those jobs that develop into multiple jobs as soon as you start them, like some sort of housework-hydra ? For instance, you go to clean out the fridge, notice the floor needs mopping and before you know where you are it's three days later and you're concreting the drive.
