ventaThose concerned about the kipper situation will be delighted to hear that they have finally limped (swum?) in. Postmarked June 1st, they've only just managed to make it from Whitby to Cambridge for today.
Now, various people have pointed out that I'm possibly entitled to demand all sorts of reparations from the Kipper Shop, since the goods are now (presumed) unusable. However, it's a small business and I don't feel inclined to blame them for the vagiaries and crapness of the Royal Mail. It might be legally valid, but I don't think it's reasonable.
However. I have mailed enquiries to Kipper Recipient to find out whether or not there was a leaflet in with the kippers which might have some form of contact details on it. If the Kipper Shop has some means of claiming back from the PO, then I'm all for having a grumble and requesting a nice new pair.
This policy was arrived at after much discussion and waving of Rights (and pointing out of the obvious) from, er, everyone who seems to be lurking about in my office right now.
