WANTED: nice place to eat near Warwick(ish).

Can anyone recommend a reasonable eatery, readily accessible from the M40, in the approximate vicinity of Warwick ? Preferably a nice pub, or a restaurant that won't mind some people lounging around and chatting for a long while.

(I'm not sure if there are any readers here for whom that's local. keris?)

Recommendations of where not to go also accepted :)

Personally, I'd reccommend going to Henley in Arden, which is quite close to Warwick, and going to the Henley in Arden ice-cream shop, as it's wonderful... they have a tea room attached.

Other than that, things in Warwick - well I don't know it that well, as I live in Cov, but the one place I've been to there was nice - a pizza restaurant, Pizza Organic, which we turned up to at about 2 on a Saturday and had the place pretty much to ourselves for several hours.

I drove through Henley in Arden at Easter in a misguided attempt to avoid M42/M40 traffic jams. Though I didn't stop, it did seem pleasant enough. Stratford on Avon isn't too far away either. Though whether that belongs in the list of places to avoid depends on your tolerance of foreign tourists.

There are some nice places in Kenilworth, especially up near the castle. The castle itself is well worth a visit, too.
