Rats.

I think I need to instate a regular review of "things I think about myself". Otherwise they sneakily get out of date, and trip me up.

Today's fact which is out of date: I am a competent pool player. I've never been great, but I used to be able to acquit myself passably. If someone in a pub challenged me to a game, I could safely take them up without expecting to look like a fool.[*]

We have a free pool table at work, I used to play a couple of games a day. For various reasons and with changing circumstances, I hardly ever play now. Following a particularly poor pool performance by two of the audio engineers today, KevinR suggested we "show 'em how it's done".

He did indeed provide a good demonstration of correct pool procedure. I, er, didn't.

onebyone, if you fancy reinstating lunchtime games, give me a shout :)


[*] With the exception of one deeply embarassing occasion in the KSR, playing against (I think) feanelwa, where I played like a sugar basin.
