Ten to doomsday, moving fast
Sep. 10th, 2003 10:58 amHmm. Despite recent successes in attempting tumbles, last night I bolloxed it up and have hurt both wrists. Not badly, you understand, just enough to make me go "ouch!" occasionally. Then again, the morning after Intrusion I usually am going "ouch!" occasionally...
Well, that was a fine night.
Many people. Most of the usual ones, and some new ones. And
surje brought his car-load of camgoths over, since Intrusion has finally swung back out of synch with the Cambridge night. Great to see
deliberateblank back again, too.
My neck's been a bit grumbly the past couple of weeks, and so I thought I'd take it easy. So I wandered round chatting. Got off my bum to go and dance to Rob Zombie, and... er, kind of stayed on the dancefloor, as
deeteeuk played a cracking set. And... evidence that persistence pays off:
About 18 months ago, I requested The Horatii's Island of the Zombie Women. It didn't get played, as DeeTee didn't have a copy. I grumbled. Repeatedly. And then some. In an effort to shut me up, he got a copy, and, last night, I finally got my request. It cleared the floor (despite many people claiming they like it -
mr_flay, where were you?) Many thanks to
davefish, Kathy and
snowspider for saving me from the ignominy of dancing by myself... And many thanks to DeeTee who is, I think, absolved from having to play anything I ask for for a further 18 months.
NB I am obliged (since he's moaning over on his own LJ :) to add here that DeeTee does not believe it was 18 months.
Oh, and apologies to everyone, in particular, (I think) ChrisC and
kneeshooter. For some time now, I've been strenuously denying knowing Defcon One by PWEI. It got played last night, and of course I know it.
I shuffled off an hour before closing, since
keris was tired, and the comically-yet-seriously injured Cat wanted a lift home. Obviously, leaving early was entirely due to these two, and nothing at all to do with me being dead on my feet; I'm hardcore I am :)

So it would be very funny, were it not that she seems to have made really quite a thorough job of breaking it, to the extent of requiring operations to put it back together again.
