I am right handed and my left hand is on the lid. However, I don't think that means that my jar opening is left handed: my left hand is just holding the lid as tightly as it can; my right hand is doing the actual job of trying to twist the jar.
What does it feel like if you swap hands? If I put my right on the lid, it's my right that feels confused and inadequate, so I suspect I am doing it left-handed :)
