Where the cats pick em up and lay em down

It's Friday! It's about three four o'clock! It's time to Boogie At Your Desk!
Friday afternoons need a little something. I think they need a Top Tune. Something to make you shuffle in your seat and, if possible, Boogie At Your Desk.
I'm not claiming that any track provided to enable At-Desk Boogying is one of the world's best or most profound pieces of music. It will, however, be a tune which makes me smile, and which has at some stage made me surreptitiously Boogie At My Desk.
Desks are not compulsory, of course. Feel free to boogie through your office, in your bedroom, round your lab, across your classroom, on the train - wherever you find yourself on a Friday afternoon.
If you like the track, go out and buy the album it belongs to - I'll try and recommend a suitable CD to purchase for any BAYD track.
The link to the mp3 will expire at some point in the future.
Today you were invited to Boogie At Your Desk to:
Gene - Fighting Fit [mp3 download, or listen to a live recording on YouTube]
I was having external hard-drive issues the other day[*], and couldn't stream music. So I was listening to last.fm which was frankly havin' it all a bit twee and playing me The Lovely Eggs and Cars Can Be Blue and The Wave Pictures. Then all of a sudden it kicked off into Fighting Fit.
I never really got into Gene at the time, they were one of those names I knew but I could never really bring a song to mind. Then I realised I knew this song, but had never matched it to its name.
Anyway, having it dropped on me completely out of the blue brought a huge wave of nostalgia with it, for university, and the 90s, and the days when I could get home from a club by walking. Being in a new office and trying to pretend to be a grown-up (at least for now) I didn't Boogie At My Desk. But anyone paying close attention would have noticed distinct hints of grinning.
[*] At least, I thought I was. I turned out to be having USB hub issues.
