It's Friday! It's about three o'clock! It's time to Boogie At Your Desk!
Friday afternoons need a little something. I think they need a Top Tune. Something to make you shuffle in your seat and, if possible, Boogie At Your Desk.
I'm not claiming that any track provided to enable At-Desk Boogying is one of the world's best or most profound pieces of music. It will, however, be a tune which makes me smile, and which has at some stage made me surreptitiously Boogie At My Desk.
Desks are not compulsory, of course. Feel free to boogie through your office, in your bedroom, round your lab, across your classroom, on the train - wherever you find yourself on a Friday afternoon.
If you like the track, go out and buy the album it belongs to - I'll try and recommend a suitable CD to purchase for any BAYD track.
The link to the mp3 will expire at some point in the future.
Today you are invited to Boogie At Your Desk to a guest tune from
undyingking:
Those Dancing Days - Hitten [mp3 download, or listen to it on YouTube]
What UndyingKing says about Those Dancing Days:
"They were a band of schoolkids who had a brief flurry of fame a few years ago, but then split up. I watched this again for some random reason a few days ago, and was reminded how brill it is."
I remember him recommending them at the time, and seem to have a handful of demos downloaded back in the days when bands just, like, had websites with mp3s on them. Nowadays, they'd probably have a Facebook page, and a link to Sound-why-on-earth-would-you-want-to-adjust-the-volume-anyway?-Cloud.
Anyway, I liked Those Dancing Days' slightly 60's-inspired, gentle, girl pop right up until the point I saw them live a couple of years ago... when they were disappointingly lacklustre and vim-free. However, most of the demos I have seem subsequently to have appeared (along with a bunch of other tracks) on In Our Space Hero Suits (great name), so I should probably pop out and buy that.
So should you :) And if you fancy providing the next guest tune, you should recommend one.

Date: 2013-03-01 04:01 pm (UTC)A friend of mine once hit me in the face on a dancefloor because he was waving his hands around to Hitten with his eyes shut. That is my Those Dancing Days anecdote.
