Well bless my soul, what's wrong with me?

In the interests of spreading the word, here are some new etiquette guidelines:

You sneezed!

Please adopt them forthwith.

“Pray the angels sing in the key of your queef.”

What's a queef?

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2012-09-07 11:22 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, I had to look that up, too. Wikipedia helpfully defines it as vaginal flatulence (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queef)..

Indeed :)

I am reminded of the (well, "a") traditional response to someone having had their hair cut:

Point and say "Haircut!", ideally multiple times.

Oh. Is that a thing? I thought that was just normal behaviour :(

Also, not relevantly: I haven't seen you in ages! Are you amenable to random invitations to dinner in that London, or is that inconvenient for feline or other reasons?

Random invitations (or indeed ones that are non-random and specifically intended for me...) are entirely convenient - it would be great to catch up. If I'm away the cats have other reserve staff (or I just leave food out for them).

Excellent! Entirely un-stochastic meals shall be forthcoming.

Better than "you've had your hair done" which, when I used to ever have my hair cut, I used to answer by holding my hands to my head and saying "I've what? Oh my god! Thanks for telling me, I didn't know!"

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2012-09-07 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, exactly! I guess social interaction demands that some comment is passed (ideally, "ooh, your new haircut looks nice!" would work.). It's weird that the default is informing the cuttee that they've had a hair cut.

This is true also when looking for a "new baby" card. Most of them seem to say something like "You've had a baby girl!"[*]. Which seems weird to me, since in most cases the person/people to whom I'm sending the card have already informed me that they've had a baby girl.

[*] In pink lettering. On a pink card. Surrounded by pink teddies and pink hearts. But that's a separate rant.

Similarly for birthday cards - "It's your birthday!" "Yes, I know. I told you that."

Well bless me, this drummer is noteworthy.

I think that drummer is a frustrated cocktail waiter :) I'm also not sure the style of drumming quite suited the song, but you've got to approve of anyone having that much fun :)
