Numpty Facebook question... any help appreciated.

When typing directly into the website, if I begin to type the name of a "friend" then the site starts to offer completions, I select one, and the name becomes a clickable link to the correct person.

Other people's status updates include clickable links to events which look as if they're done in the same way... but I am never offered completions in this way for events/other non-person things.

So... how do I include a link to an event? Is there any way to include a link to a person other than that described above, because the auto-complete seems a bit shonky? I assume there's some mechanism that doesn't involve typing in real live HTML.

(Advanced question: how do I include such links, either to people or events, when posting via Tweetdeck? But I'll worry about that one later...)

There are already some photos which have an "At <clickable link to event page>" tag on them, so I think there is a mechanism to do it... somewhere... somehow...

The photos have it as a tag on the actual photo, or as a link in the description/comment? - I seem to be able to add events in the comment, but not in the location or the who with

The thing I'm calling a tag is the "At DERT London 2012 - The Rapperlympics" bit.

Has "Wimpole Hall and Home Farm" as the location, FWIW. Which you add by clicking on the little map-pin icon and starting to type - you can add a location to the whole album or to just one picture. And I'm not sure how it decides what counts as a location I'm afraid!

I've seen links in that context for places, but I don't think I've ever seen it happen for events. Is there a publically visible example anywhere?

I was under the impression that the photo I linked to (or possibly I linked to an album of such photos, I'm a bit confused) in the comment you're replying to is an example.

You've linked to a photo which is part of an album. However, looking at that photo I see at the bottom:

"Paul Draper at DERT London 2012 - The Rapperlympics."

The username ("Paul Draper") is a hyperlink, but the part after the "at" is not (for me, at least) a hyperlink to the event, which is what I thought you were asking how to achieve?

That's one of the reasons I'm confused :)

It looks like that to me *but* if you click on "Back to album", and then click on one of the photos again it loads it in a different style - full screen, and with the thing I'm calling the tag on the right. It then has the "At" and the "DERT London 2012 - The Rapperlympics" in different coloured fonts - and when I mouse over the "DERT..." part, I get a little pop up saying "loading", although it doesn't appear to be a clickable link.

I don't know what it's loading, because it never does. But I seem to be having all sorts of network issues at present, so I don't know if it doesn't load because it isn't a proper tag, or because of the network wonkiness.
