Truly, the end times are near and the right-of-reply is coming back to bite me on the bum.

The mother has got herself a LiveJournal.

Those of you who know her, I'm sure she'd like it if you popped along and said hello. For everyone else, don't be surprised if someone called [livejournal.com profile] exspelunca is found making serious attempts to keep me in order.

I live in terror of my mother getting a Facebook account. There's just so much I don't want her to know.

PS You listen to Blyth Power? I always knew you were a right-thinking woman :)

If there were stuff I didn't want my mother to know, I wouldn't post it on the internet ;)

And Blyth Power ? Of course, they're great.

That would be sensible, can't be having that :)

My mother-in-law has a Facebook account, but after seeing a couple of pictures of one of her nieces in a rather inebriated state she has sworn off looking at any of the photo galleries.

If only FB had as fine grained filter control as LJ...

Hopefully my parents don't know about LiveJournal.

I've already denied having a Facebook account to them (and I've set my profile to be completely hidden and unsearchable on there, anyway...)

My mum has been [livejournal.com profile] callmemadam for some time, and my dad was [livejournal.com profile] cybersofa. It is still a bit disconcerting.

Cor, [livejournal.com profile] callmemadam posts things with embedded YouTube clips in them and everything - clearly an advanced LJ user!

(Actually, I was quite enjoying her writings about books... but friending someone's mother does feel like a cyberstalker step too far!)

There are a couple of instances in which I'm Friends with two generations of the same family. It does feel odd.

Good to see she's getting down with the kids! I shall certainly say hello, although she might not remember me.

You still are on the internet... at least until Bea gets an LJ.

[livejournal.com profile] smallclanger and his peer group have had LJs for ~6 years ... he's 6 years old. And (now) he writes his own entries. :)

Yeah... there used to be some public entries when LJ was a lot smaller, and he really only picked up one or two odd followers along the way, but now he writes his own stuff, and is old enough to know he was written about, it's really only fair, I think!

[livejournal.com profile] thalinoviel's dad is on LJ, and I keep encountering him on other people's f-lists, too.

Oh, I've always just done that my copying the HTML string LJ uses via "View Source". Is there an easier way?

I think so. For example, [livejournal.com profile] pm215's comment included:
