Girls just want to have lunch
Apr. 10th, 2008 01:16 pmToday's recipe:
Cut a moderately sized peeled sweet potato and a deseeded red pepper into chunks. Drizzle with olive oil, menace with ground black pepper, shuffle them about on a baking tray/overproof dish and put in the oven at gas mark 4 for about 45 minutes.
Cut a small head of broccoli into florets, and split the florets up by slicing through the stalk vertically. Throw onto the baking tray, do some more shuffling about to get a little oil onto the broccoli, and put it back in the oven for 15-20 minutes.
Remove, leave to cool. Put half in your Dalek baitbox, scatter with a good handful of pumpkin seeds and take to work. Put the other half in a margarine tub in the fridge for tomorrow.
Timings are (very) approximate. I was cleaning the kitchen and doing some hoovering while it was cooking and wasn't paying a lot of attention. Make sure the sweet potato is at least mostly soft throughout before putting the broccoli in. Our oven temperature is also very approximate and inconsistent. If you can hear violent sizzling noises, turn it down a bit.
