ventaPeople in London: if you are bored tomorrow evening, you have no excuse to be:
I got quite excited recently when I discovered Luke Haines was playing another gig in London. I got even more excited when I heard that Rancid were touring the UK again and (unsurprisingly) coming to London.
On the same day :(
While I was dithering between the two, and just about coming down in favour of shouty punk rather than sneery indie, Rancid rudely forced my hand by selling out. So, tomorrow I'm off to see Mr Haines.
Assuming the M4 is friendly (<hollow laughter>) I will be in London in time to make it to the Tottenham Court Rd branch of Fopp for 8pm, where The Egg have a free gig. I feel it's unlikely I'll make it into central London for 7pm, when the Charlatans are playing in HMV.
Had I not been doing the above, I'd have taken myself to the Buffalo Bar to see the Indelicates.
Unless I'd gone to the rather delightfully named Sin Club, at 144 Charing Cross Road, where Paris Motel and loads of other people are playing a free gig.
Dammit, these people should sort their schedules out. Or consult me before booking gigs.
