Status Update
Aug. 30th, 2006 11:35 pmJust in case anyone was wondering... I ate'nt dead.
Last week was the scheduled holiday in Whitby for the folk week. Since (for the first time ever) I was part of a booked dance team rather than a paying punter, I was much busier (and ended up much tireder) than usual. Dance displays, a parade or two, running a workshop... I assume there was a festival going on somewhere, but I didn't actually get to see much of it.
The week before that involved me heading rapidly and unexpectedly north following the news that my dad had been rushed into intensive care following a heart attack. All is well (or getting well) now, since he's home again and making good progress.
Which is why I've been offline/ignoring your emails/ignoring your messages/uncontactable of late. Whitby is shockingly short on unsecured wireless networks. Apologies to all the people who should have got postcards, sticks of rock, and so on.
Designated Heroes of the Immediate Past are, accordingly: the staff of the Coronary Care Unit in Scarborough (my parents were already on holiday in Whitby, so Dad ended up in hospital there), Carole and Keith in Scarborough for putting my mum up at no notice, and Sue who manages the flats my parents stay in in Whitby for letting me come and go at all sorts of crazy times and generally being a good sort.

Date: 2006-09-04 09:24 pm (UTC)Yeah, but I bet it'd be foul :) OK, you'd think it was foul anyway, but I reckon it'd be nothing like a real pork pie.

Date: 2006-09-04 09:23 pm (UTC)And no, it's Sue from Seaview Properties - which is bascially one of the big houses on Royal Crescent (the curvey row of houses above the Spa).

Date: 2006-08-31 04:24 pm (UTC)BTW, I didn't say this, but the *occasional* small pork pie is allowed on a once-in-a-while basis as a treat - anyone who says they stick to these diets 100% is lying. And the psychological benefit from the occasional pork pie should not be underestimated!
