It's Friday! It's about three o'clock! It's time to Boggle At Your Desk!

Er... no, this isn't going to be a regular feature. But I got given Boggle for Christmas, and when someone suggested Boggle At Your Desk I couldn't resist.

Just humour me, ok ?

For those of you who know how to play Boggle, skip on to the grid. Post your words in a comment (it'll be screened), and I'll tot up the scores at the end of the weekend. To make my life simpler, please post your words in a single comment (feel free to delete and repost if you think of more).

The aim is to find words spelled out on the grid. From the Rule Book, here are the Rules For Words:

  • All words must be at least three letters long

  • Words must be formed from adjoining squares, ie letters that are touching either horizontally, vertically or diagonally to the left, right, up or down. Letters must join in the proper sequence to spell a word.

  • The same square can only be used once in any single word.

  • If the same word is found in different areas of the grid, it may only be scored once.

Similar rules to Scrabble - no foreignness, no hyphens, no proper nouns. In the event of disagreement, my decision is final and very possibly arbitrary.

Long words score more highly (2 points for 5 letters, 3 for 6, 5 for 7 and 11 for 8+), but you score nothing for any words which anybody else found. So big and obscure is good :)

So, here I am rattling my nice new Boggle dice in my nice new Boggle box, and...

Hmm. Quite tricky compared to the grids the uncle and I rolled up on Christmas day. See you in dictionary corner...

Oh dear, I don't really want to make your productivity disappear down the same timesink as mine has already done, but... have you seen Babble?

Also, um, I wrote a Perl script to let you generate Boggle grids. With, to the best of my ability, the same 'dice' as the actual real game. ([livejournal.com profile] addedentry and I use it to play Boggle on train journeys, as my phone has teh interweb...)

HTH. 8-)

(My words will follow in another comment...)

I haven't seen Babble but, fortified by your warning, I shall avoid following the link :)
