It's Friday! It's about three o'clock! It's time to Boogie At Your Desk!
Friday afternoons need a little something. I think they need a Top Tune. Something to make you shuffle in your seat and, if possible, Boogie At Your Desk. I'll be endeavouring to fill this gap some Fridays this year.
I'm not claiming that any track provided to enable At-Desk Boogying is one of the world's best or most profound pieces of music. It will, however, be one of the tunes which make me smile, and which have at some stage made me surreptitiously Boogie At My Desk.
Desks are not compulsory, of course. Feel free to boogie through your office, in your bedroom, round your lab, across your classroom, on the train - wherever you find yourself on a Friday afternoon.
If you like the track, go out and buy the album it belongs to - I'll try and recommend a suitable CD to purchase for any BAYD track.
This link will expire at some point in the future.
Today you were invited to Boogie At Your Desk to:
Punish the Atom - Filthy Advice
Well, if you've been keeping up to speed you'll know all about Punish the Atom, because I was wittering about them the other day.
I'm fairly sure that I have this track because I downloaded it legitimately from somewhere. If I could only remember where I'd point you at the link.
When they played at the Barfly on Monday night, the singer announced that Filthy Advice was currently in the Ukranian top ten. Investigation revealed that this was at least vestigially true.
Punish the Atom released an album a couple of years ago, letsdothedontcare (which Filthy Advice isn't on), but their sound's actually moved on quite a bit from there. They do have a five-track CD around at the moment, but it seems to be buy-at-gigs only and, though I'm told it's good, I've not heard it yet. They have a new album on the way, but they're not even in the studio until later in the month. So, er, I actually don't have a CD purchase to recommend today for once. Spend the money on going to see them instead. Or buy letsdothedontcare, because it's quite interesting anyway.
