Right. Thanks to the wonders of polls, a highly scientific process has constructed me a playlist for the remainder of the afternoon.

Please note that this has been bashed together in something of a hurry (I'm at work, y'know), so no nit-picking if I've made mistakes.

Mindless Drug Hoover? Excellent. Dave-At-The-Next-Desk used to play me some stuff . . . The Reefer Song, possibly? The one abut the policeman, anyway

That's the bunny :) (Though obviously, I'm listening to Don't Take Ecstasy). The album's actually surprisingly worthwhile.

Poke!

You've got two "Bad username in LJ tag" errors.

Or, at least, you did when I posted this!

Pah!

Yup. That's what comes of being lazy and getting emacs to remove all the _s - sure, it took them all out the filenames, but also out of a couple of usernames.

Oo, impressive match!

From: [identity profile] venta.livejournal.com
Er, sorry ? What is matching what ?

(unless you mean that 36 mod 12 = 12 (kinda :))

36-24-36 is (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman!

Ah, of course :)
I was too busy being disappointed that it wasn't 36-24-36 by the Violent Femmes to notice!

Yeah, Dogs Die In Hot Cats got misfiled in my mp3 collection, and the above list is all based on filenames (didn't want to spend the time fixing everything).

And yes, that entire Belly album is very fine. Feel free to borrow it if you want.

I don't believe I've ever ganked in my life. It sounds most distasteful :)

(See quot.) Hence ganky a., containing or resembling ‘gank’.

1747 HOOSON Miner's Dict. Iivb, Gank, a Soil lying in some Veins of a very Red or Yellow colour, sometimes Branching and Spreading itself in small Strings or Joynts to the Rachill, by which Signs it is very probable a Vein may be discovered; some Veins are naturally much inclined to it, such we call Gankey Veins. Ibid. Sijb, The Joynts in it are of a red Colour, or gankey.

Don't think that can really be passed off under "Common Usage", y'know ;-)

For it to properly count as random, you have to play that list on random, too, so you don't know which once you're getting next.

I think there's some (at least marginally) interesting number psychology behind people's choices there - a lot of firsts, a significant number of triplets, some other cute patterns and the repeat of 73 can only either (a) signify Sandi Toksvig nostalgia or (b) be akin to the "pick a number between 10 and 50" thing that normally works when you haven't already been talking about number psychology or are talking to people with an interest in such matters.

What an awful sentence.

I vote that, because I know for damn sure what number I'm going for next time someone tells me to "pick a number between 10 and 50".

Unless it's a psych eval or in line at customs - neither of those sets of guys has much sense of humour.
