Confessions of a tidier-upper

[livejournal.com profile] onebyeone: I've got your Fighting Techniques of the Ancient World, and an Asterix book.
[livejournal.com profile] wimble: I've got your Stiff Little Fingers anthology.

Actually, they were quite recent loans, so it's more of a statement of fact than a confession.

However, most of these I should be (a) feeling quite guilty about and (b) returning:

[livejournal.com profile] leathellin: HOL rule book.
[livejournal.com profile] broadmeadow: History of the Underground.
[livejournal.com profile] snow_leopard: The Island of the Day Before and The Unbearable Lightness of Being
[livejournal.com profile] edling: Rosetta Stone CD.
[livejournal.com profile] davefish: Sunglasses case. And, apparently, a print out of the confirmation details for your and [livejournal.com profile] mprh's flight to Leipzig this year. Why ?

Not to mention some shamefully overdue items belonging to non-LJers.

Anyone else want to make a convincing case for me having something of theirs which they'd like found and given back ?

Who is this imposter [livejournal.com profile] mprh, and what've they done with the real [livejournal.com profile] mrph?

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2004-11-28 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
Bah. You know who I mean :)

[identity profile] mrph.livejournal.com 2004-11-28 07:04 am (UTC)(link)
I don't. But I'd like to find out, as it seems he's nicked my room for Leipzig... :)

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2004-11-28 07:16 am (UTC)(link)
Er, no, he hasn't. He apparently already went to Leipzig this year - you must have spent the weekend drugged in a box, and then had false memories implanted.

[identity profile] mrph.livejournal.com 2004-11-28 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm. Yeah. I think that explains a lot. Although it means a few of my so-called friends must be implicated in the conspiracy.

They'll pay for that. The bastards.

[identity profile] dmh.livejournal.com 2004-11-28 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
Hang on... how do we know you're the real Morph? There's a 50% chance you're the evil doppleganger.

[identity profile] davefish.livejournal.com 2004-11-28 10:15 am (UTC)(link)
That sounds quite close to the truth in some ways.

And as for the sunglasses case, I thought that it as completely eaten by mould.

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2004-11-29 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
No, I demoulded it. So merely slightly nibbled.

[identity profile] mrph.livejournal.com 2004-11-28 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
Well, he doesn't seem to post much anyway. :)

[identity profile] wimble.livejournal.com 2004-11-28 07:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, you've also got my Beast of Alice Cooper ;-)

On the other hand, I've got a duff back, as my (and [livejournal.com profile] narenek's) tidying efforts have just revealed.

So we're sitting down for a cup of tea.
Well, he's sitting down. And I'm whimpering, 'cos I can't move.

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2004-11-28 07:16 am (UTC)(link)
Ouch :(

Time for an appointment with the osteopath ?

[identity profile] wimble.livejournal.com 2004-11-28 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
Hopefully, time top sit down for half an hour or so, and the muscles will have relaxed again. Until then, I can't get to the phone, let alone the oesteopath. (A PC, on the other hand...)

I'll just have to be more careful moving the rest of the stuff.

[identity profile] lathany.livejournal.com 2004-11-28 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd second the whole oesteopath idea. In the meantime you have my sympathy.

[identity profile] leathellin.livejournal.com 2004-11-28 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
leathellin: HOL rule book.

Ah - so that's where that went.
It's okay, [livejournal.com profile] lanfykins still holds the record.

[identity profile] wimble.livejournal.com 2004-11-28 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
Does she have a turntable to play it on?

[identity profile] leathellin.livejournal.com 2004-11-28 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe in a box somewhere.

[identity profile] verlaine.livejournal.com 2004-11-28 10:00 am (UTC)(link)
Was there a CD, left in a CD player, a long time ago? The Divine Comedy maybe? To be honest it's been so long that either I may be imagining it, or you may have given it back years ago. Either way, it doesn't really matter, as I haven't been actively missing it ;)

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2004-11-29 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
There was. Where I have put it is a very different question. I have learnt through experience that I store boxless-CDs in very strange places in an attempt to prevent scratching.

It was fin de siècle, and it was already scratched beyond playing one track. I will hunt it.

Hmm. I also have Garbage which left in [livejournal.com profile] chrestomancy's stereo when he handed it over before scarpering. I wonder where I put that.

[identity profile] bloodnok.livejournal.com 2004-11-28 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I could really use my spare set of spirit level bubbles back.

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2004-11-29 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Um, you can have two of them back. They're safely stored in a glass of water on the window sill. The smallest one, though, I'm very much afraid might have burst the other day :(

[identity profile] phlebas.livejournal.com 2004-11-29 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Fighting Techniques of the Ancient World, and an Asterix book.
Pure and applied!

[identity profile] onebyone.livejournal.com 2004-11-29 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I think you have my CD of Peter Gabriel's Passion too, in a DVD case, because Jez still has the CD case. Well, not Peter Gabriel's Passion, Jesus's Passion, but Peter Gabriel's musical efforts on the topic.

No especial hurry to get any of these things back before you're sure you're done with them.

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2004-11-30 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Aye, yes, I know where that is too.
