Fancy a lyrics quiz ? Go on, it's Friday.
ChrisC and I have been evolving this quiz for a week or so now, and we think it's about time to unleash it on the world.
For each question, simply fill in the name which has been removed from the lyric. If you want to be smug, you can name the artist and song title as well, but that's not required.
For example:
It's me, ________, I've come home.
Would be "Cathy", from Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush.
Sometimes a single gap denotes more than one word missing:
________, dance on air
Would be "Ginger Rogers", from Vogue by Madonna.
If you don't like the poll format, post your answers as an anonymous comment, which will be screened.
[Poll #383221]
Update: Bits I forgot earlier: No googling, obviously. No going and listening to check the name if you think you've identified the song :)
If you want to change/update/add to your answers, go here, select Fill Out Poll and you can.
Update2: Sorry about the formatting cock-up between 14 and 15.
Also, "named" in question 35 should read "name of", and "name of" in question 19 should read "named" :(
Update3: Since people are still wandering along here, and being pointed here by others... I'm afraid to announce that this quiz was closed on 19/11/04. People are still welcome to fill the poll in, of course, but they won't get scores calculated for them. Full answers, and a score table, can be found here.

Date: 2004-11-12 09:15 am (UTC)I started doing it but I could only get seven of them so I was too embarrassed to submit it.
Oh well.

Date: 2004-11-12 09:20 am (UTC)I never know whether I'm picking dead easy or dead obscure lyrics for this, so can never tell whether it's reidiculously hard or ridiculously easy.

Date: 2004-11-12 09:21 am (UTC)You can't change polls after the fact.
That's what comes of being lazy and using emacs keyboard macros to format your LJ posts - the end of the line of q14 accidentally became a separate question in its own right.
Very annoying that I didn't notice it :(

Date: 2004-11-12 09:53 am (UTC)I forgot to include the standard disclaimer about not googling, and it was meant to add that listening wasn't allowed either :(

Date: 2004-11-23 06:24 am (UTC)There are answers posted here (http://www.livejournal.com/users/venta/121439.html), if you haven't found them already.
Feel free to add a comment on that post telling me your score, and I'll add you in the table. (I'm fraid I'm seeing polls before the eyes after sorting the scoring out and can't quite face doing any more just yet :)
