Look out you'll set the jungle alight!
Oct. 6th, 2004 04:59 pmToday seems to be filled with small flashes of childhood. Earlier on, finding there was no jam in the staff room here, I had golden syrup on my toast. Aged about six, one of the things I vowed to do every day when I was a grown up, along with staying up Really Late, was having golden syrup on toast.
Looking at the V&A's website just now, to check which tube station I'm aiming for, I found that the front page of their website currently has a picture of Tippoo's Tiger on it (or see here for an animation). If you'd asked me about Tippoo's Tiger I'd have looked blank - yet seeing a picture reminded me of a trip to the V&A with my godmother, probably when I was about seven. Tippoo's Tiger astounded me; I don't remember at this stage whether it scared me or not. I'm pleased to have remembered it - if I make it to the Encounters exhibition, I'll be looking out for it.
But not tonight. Tonight is Black British Style.
