Our road is, particularly this time of year, overrun with snails. Once it gets dark, it's difficult to walk even a few yards from the back door without treading on some of the little copulating buggers.
Sometimes the snails hitch rides to work on my car's back bumper - I was rather surprised they didn't fall off on the A4074, but last year some travelled back and forth with me for several days before they decided that an hour's commute each way every day is a mug's game, and slithered off.
