Right then, boys and girls.

It's May 12th. That means it's time to judge the photo challenge. Which means it's...

Audience Participation Time!

Yes, you, the loyal readers, are requested to cast your eyes over the competition entries, and tell me what you think.

For those of you who voted on photos last December, it's a little more tricky this time, since there's less opportunity for direct comparison. So, what I'd like is for people to mail me with their thoughts on which pictures are good, which are better, who deserves a nice prize and who generally ought to be declared a photo-genius. If anyone has the patience to compare, and suggest things like "best photo of a boat" then that's also great. I'll make highly arbitrary decisions based on people's opinions, and award equally abritrary prizes.

Some things to bear in mind:

  • Yes, you can vote even if you entered.

  • Don't worry about whether the entries fit the rules - I'll do the tiresome things like counting wheels.

  • The album labelled "Broadmeadow1" is not an entry - it's exhibition only, not a competitor (because none of the photos were taken specifically for this.)

And, er, yeah. The "Venta" album is empty :( A combination of one of my films destroying itself, and some photos having failed to come back from the developers (I think they're lost in the post), means that I don't have an entry myself.

Some nice pics there.

BTW the link to the original competition page seems a bit bust.

Thanks, it's fixed now :)

Please mail me a further opinion than "nice pics"!

... and received, thanks :)

Have one notional kudo for being the first to mail me.

For me personally, the higlight really has to be [livejournal.com profile] narenak's piccy of a pink tank.

Not sure what his entry for a form of transport incapable of going anywhere would be, as that fence would happily be minced by the tank.

I claim that one. The photo, that is, not the tank.

My entries look darker on this PC than at home on my Mac. I hope that's just monitors and not some fundamental difference in displays.

It's a WW2 Russian T34, so most likely had all the motive bits nicked (and the gun mechanism welded shut).

Yes... but what self respecting tank would dare travel around, in PINK!!!

Dammit, I'm being useless aren;t I? Can I make a late (and somewhat incomplete) entry?

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2004-05-12 09:02 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry, didn't know we were expecting to be hearing from you. Yes, course you can, if [livejournal.com profile] surje is around to give you a bit of webspace.

[identity profile] surje.livejournal.com 2004-05-12 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
i've deleted you, and added neil :)

Weah? Can't we just send her to a recycle bin?

(Which used to be known as Coventry. In the days before [livejournal.com profile] keris)

[identity profile] surje.livejournal.com 2004-05-12 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
of course it's now a uni-cycle loony bin ;)

Alas, I managed to get exactly two pictures worth submitting for this. Oh well.

Emails when I've looked through all of the entries :-)

Bing, email submitted (last night actually).
