I saw somewhere that he was going to get a seeing-eye pony next instead of a dog. A Shetland pony or some such, not a hoofing big Shirehorse (mebbe that's what John "two ponies" Prescott would go for). Apparently their temperament is ideal for the role. Shetlands, that is, not Shirehorses... do try to keep up!

As for Blunkett, don't get me started, I don't have time for a full-blown Blunkett rant today.
