I don't know if you knew I knew him; I'm surprised to hear that you met him in the wild rather than at university :) He was a contemporary of mine in college, and I hadn't seen him in years but now occasionally bump into him at gigs and such in London. And at the Fringe a year or two ago, but he was onstage and I was in the audience which probably makes me a fan or something ;-)
