They are very different: Xmas pud* is nice, Xmas cake is vile.
*Dried fruit is generally** vile, but Xmas pud is honorary not dried fruit **Dried mango is nice, as is dried pineapple. But candied dried fruit or dried grapes/berries are pretty much exclusively vile. Unless rehydrated with lots of boozahol. Or tea.
