Well, I was pleased...

I just discovered something exciting in H&M: you can buy hipster tights.

They may or may not be any cop, but at least someone other than me has noticed that wearing tights with low-waisted skirts looks a bit silly. Now if someone would make decent hipster underwear at a sensible price, I'll be sorted.

Call me mean, dull, boring or old fashioned... I think £10 is too much for one pair of pants. I think £5 is pushing it, to be honest.

I'm genuinely curious: what does anyone else think is a reasonable price ?

I'm Primark girl, that's my problem :)

Yup. They've got [livejournal.com profile] venta sitting on the shelf in Primark. For some incomprehensible reason, they're priced at 5.01 pounds...

Am I allowed to participate in a reasonable price conversation? ;-)

No. You're mad as a hatter :)

Though.. go on. I'm intrigued by what you consider "reasonable" (which is distinct from "what you're prepared to pay").

[identity profile] leathellin.livejournal.com 2003-08-12 08:58 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm, reasonable. Well it depends on the intended niceness of the underwear. Since I don't populate my underwear draw soley with nice underwear I have reasonable for the bulking out underwear and reasonable for the nice pairs with matching basques and bras and suspender belts.
So reasonable dull stuff tends to be between £3 and £10 and the nice stuff is often between £15 and £20.
Ish.
And it obviously depends who i'm shopping with ;-)

You're talking pants there ?
How about for a bra ?

[identity profile] leathellin.livejournal.com 2003-08-12 09:23 am (UTC)(link)
Well apparently my usual Bra costs £20.
Not cheap stuff this underwear ;-)

Sets are when it gets silly though because it isn't so much the price of the individual pieces and what I would pay for a nice set...

What you really want to do is to go visit somewhere totally *bizarre* in utter desperation in search of a bikini, discover that they have an underwear sale on and furthermore discover that nobody else who shops there takes your size, so they have *loads* of *massively* discounted underwear in your size.

[identity profile] lathany.livejournal.com 2003-08-12 09:35 am (UTC)(link)
I agree with you. But then those four adjectives may well apply to my underwear buying.

hipster underwear

Which for some reason reminds me of the video for Punk Rock 101 by Bowling for Soup ;-)

You could always wear holdups.
The ones with the lacey tops.

argle....

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2003-08-12 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
holdups

The most misnamed article of clothing readily purchasable.

Grrr.

[identity profile] erming.livejournal.com 2003-08-12 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh I dunno. The fondness for labelling clothes.

I've yet to see anyone attractive wearing a t shirt with "babe" written on it.

Or a goth wearing trousers with "Gothic" across the bum.

Does that work with the tiny mini skirt.

(If he's not in work tomorrow, he's argled himself to death... ;-)

Damn it's warm in here!
