It is particularly bad in London at a lot of places. As a jeans and band t shirt type person I've lost count of the number of people I've heard sneering saying "some people haven't made the effort"! Amazingly they are the same people who get deeply offended by people making remarks about how they are dressed and I couldn't believe it when one very dressy friend asked why I never gave her any compliments (I didn't have the heart to say it was because I thought she looked ridiculous whenever I've seen her in photos - and she posts a lot of photos).
