In the time I've been going to Whitby (since about 2000, I think) there's always been a few people in fancy dress and such. It feels like there's more at the moment, but wasn't sure whether that was just perception.
I guess it's just a wave... there was a wave of furries not long after I started going, and then a wave of alarming neon lycra...
