Grrr. Today I am updating some technical documentation. It is out of date, and very confusingly written. When I started, I thought it'd be about an hour's work.

That was yesterday morning.

I'd like to thump the idiot who originally wrote it.

Only, er, that seems to have been me :(

I do this with code all the time.

Probably just as well I never attempt docs anymore!

Ah, yes. I'm currently cursing the moron who wrote the Technical Guide in Word rather than having the guts to ask their boss to fork out for a license for a proper authoring tool.

Which was me, three months ago...

I feel there are good reasons why it's such a mess - I wrote the original docs when the thing-being-documented was in its bleeding-edge state, and I have added and tweaked and so on as it's changed. Sadly, it's now evolved to the point where the original basis of the docs is so outmoded that a complete redo-from-start is required.

However... keeping the docs up to date is my job, and I should have noticed what was happening rather earlier!
