Semi-naked in somebody else's room

Today's utterly pointless piece of curiosity... assuming that you are dressed, do you know what colour your pants are? (Note for Americans: I'm talking about underwear.) I don't require to know what colour they are (though you are of course welcome to tell me, if you wish) - I just want to know whether you know (without checking).

Pulp. Underwear.

One kudo to you. If there's anything better in this world, who cares?

[identity profile] valkyriekaren.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 11:51 am (UTC)(link)
Most of my pants are the same colour (black, or at least charcoal...). I have a few pairs in other colours that match with bras, and a few 'skin tone' pairs for wearing under light-coloured dresses in the summer.

Bloody goth ;)

Exact ditto, except for this abomination known as 'charcoal' of which you speak. ;-)

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 12:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I do own some charcoal pants, I should think, except mine are really ex-black pants :)

Haha, OK yes - by that definition I do own some rather charcoalesque pants!

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 12:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Thus far the results of this survey are rather distressing - it's looking like it's just me that regularly has no idea what colour underwear they're wearing :(

[identity profile] bopeepsheep.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
You asked at a time of day when I can still remember getting dressed. Post a poll at 8pm and I would have a much harder time of it.

[identity profile] pseudomonas.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 01:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, this. Also, I had to hunt around for a clean pair of pants (laundry day today) so I remembered it a bit more than I might normally.

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah! I shall hope for more promising results as the day wears on, and people who don't read LJ at work show up!

[identity profile] valkyriekaren.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Charcoal are ones that used to be black but have now faded!

[identity profile] rabbit1080.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
There's been this odd situation for years where if I find some underwear if a fabric and fitting that I actually like, it's only available in black (and sometimes also an especially horrible beige).

It's a pity I'm not a goth :-)

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 02:11 pm (UTC)(link)
We'll get you eventually, from the underwear outwards... :)

[identity profile] rabbit1080.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Yikes - I don't want spiky underwear! :-)

[identity profile] rapperaddict.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Were you trying to remember what colour your underwear was today and, if so, why?
Admittedly, if it weren't the fact that i only possess knickers in one colour, I wouldn't know...

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 02:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Not especially, no! It's a poll I've been meaning to post for about three years, and I just remembered (actually, I remembered when I was getting dressed this morning, hence making careful note of what I was putting on!)

Question originally arose from a "what t-shirt are you wearing" conversation when a number of the conversants were wearing jumpers, and some had to check...

[identity profile] bopeepsheep.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Last night in the pub three of us were wearing identical black hoodies (we know they are identical because we all got them at the same time from the same place). The question was asked: were we all wearing the same tshirt underneath? I knew it wasn't likely to be the same as [livejournal.com profile] wimble's but I did have to have a quick look to check I couldn't be wearing the same one as [livejournal.com profile] narenek. (It turned out I had a stripy top from Principles on, rather than a tshirt, so that was easy. We do have at least five tshirt designs that are the same, though - distinguished by size.)

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
My boyfriend and I both own t-shirts from Diesel Sweeties, which are plain with a slogan written on them in a pixellated font. We have different shirts, but they do look very similar at a glance (today I'm wearing this one in black (http://store.dieselsweeties.com/products/nothing-is-any-good-if-other-people-like-it-shirt)).

On the last day of our summer holiday last year, we discovered that we each had one clean shirt left... and they were these nearly-identical black/white pixellated shirts. I think one of us elected to wear a grubby shirt rather than walk about matching :)

s/always/almost always/

I have a large collection of plain black cotton pants which are almost identical - I think there are actually three slightly distinct types, but they're near as makes no difference. I own one or two pairs of "nice" undies that match bras too, but I can be sure without checking that I'm not wearing those as a) I wouldn't on a weekday to work and b) they feel different. And actually they're mostly-black too.

Too slow for the kudo today.

[identity profile] kauket.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
A fair number of mine are black but today are white and red stripy with a Supergirl logo on them. I am increasingly in favour of bright colourful pants.

[identity profile] glamwhorebunni.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I posted "Not quite sure", being fairly certain they were navy blue. Apparently they're not, they're grey. I threw out my navy blue boxers several years ago. My brain is rubbish.

[identity profile] leathellin.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I always wear the same colour pants anyway

In winter anyway. Except the green pair and the purple pair :-)

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Why in winter? Do you have special thermal furry pants in a distinctive colour?

[identity profile] huskyteer.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, I've just checked and I misremembered completely, which feels worse than not knowing in the first place.

[identity profile] satyrica.livejournal.com 2013-01-26 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
although only because I've just had a shower and put some new ones on; prior to that, probably not . . .

[identity profile] undyingking.livejournal.com 2013-01-27 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I just put on whichever ones are ont he top of the pile. I probably wouldn't remember what colour they were even five minutes later…

I'm not now feeling bothered about not knowing, but I am feeling slightly bothered about not caring, as it seems other people put a lot more thought into it than me! Am I deficient in some important lobe of the brain?

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2013-01-28 11:51 am (UTC)(link)
Well, the whole point of this poll was to reassure me that I wasn't the only one with deficient brain-lobes, but it has largely failed :(

My pants-selection is probably very slightly more complicated than off the top of the pile, because I suspect I wear more items of underwear than you do and at least vaguely attempt to make sure they're the same colour. But even after thinking about it when dressing, I'm inclined to forget!

Seriously, if you can't remember what color pair of pants you put on in the morning, what were you doing when you got dressed?

(OK, so maybe some people's lives are more interesting than mine.)
