Without whatnow? This has got me genuinely puzzled... the only thing that seems to make sense is a "stamp" to put a pretty picture on the top of your mash, which I don't think I expected you to say.
It seems very strange to have a spitty-out reaction for no known reason, but like you say - pushing the point sounds like a bad idea.
