I need a dollar, dollar, a dollar's what I need

Informercial...

I'm considering placing an order with Bento&co. They're in the US, and the shipping is $13 minimum, or $27 if you want any form of tracking/insurance.

I was just wondering whether anyone to whom I can conveniently convey goods wishes to join in my order and split the shipping.

Edit I assume you will all assume this, but I have now placed my order and thus this offer is closed ;)

Not on this occasion, thanks...

...but wanted to comment to say what a fine idea "Shop By Price" is. More sites should do this!

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2012-01-19 12:00 pm (UTC)(link)
... although not quite a fine enough idea to justify them not having a bloomin' search box!

[identity profile] bateleur.livejournal.com 2012-01-19 12:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehe - well, I didn't try to actually use the site!

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2012-01-19 12:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn. I was half-hoping you were going to reply saying something along the lines of "but it does, didn't you notice it?"

I find it sufficiently improbable that any such site wouldn't have a search, so keep assuming I must just be idiotically not spotting it. I may send them a email and point out the annoyingness of the absence.

OK, having now looked, it REALLY DOES!

(Click the little magnifying glass icon.)

... or indeed, just hover over it.

You win. Thank you :)

I don't know why, but that icon just doesn't say "seach" to me. No matter how many times I meet it :(

Actually, yes. I'd like the Norinomo set of sandwich cutters (http://en.bentoandco.com/products/sando-cutters) and the bear Sando (http://en.bentoandco.com/products/lets-sando)

I think this could make the latter part of weaning a lot more fun! Bear sandwiches!!! You don't get cooler than that!!

How would I get stuff to you? Can post it, or can drop it off when I'm next in Darlo (probably the beginning of March...)

[identity profile] ladylizbet.livejournal.com 2012-01-19 12:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Either. I'm happy to pay postage. I think I want the winnie the pooh boxes too, for little bear shaped sandwiches! (http://en.bentoandco.com/products/winnie-3-boxes)

Can I paypal you?

xx

Paypal or bank transfer is fine. PennyP is also coming in on the order, so once I've sent it off I'll see what the conversion rate I get charged is, split the postage, and send you an email :) (Probably going to go for the cheap-arse delivery, which is a little slower, if that's ok.)

Manual delivery up north is fine, or I'm happy to post if you want to start making bearwiches right away, your call!

[identity profile] ladylizbet.livejournal.com 2012-01-19 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll paypal then... Let me know what the damage is, and if you send me an invoice to lizbet@ntlworld.com I'll gladly sort it. I think bearwiches are a priority, so perhaps royal mail would be a good thing. Who knows, I might even send P into work one day with a selection of buswiches and bearwiches. That could be amusing.

Why do you say they are in the US when they say "We are located in the imperial City of Kyoto, Japan, and your order will be shipped directly from here."
I'd be up for it, but they don't have any daruma products.
Oh, and I couldn't find the search either till your correspondent pointed me at the magnifying glass.

Why do you say they are in the US when they say "We are located in the imperial City of Kyoto, Japan, and your order will be shipped directly from here."

What a strange question to ask.

Er, because I'm trying to perpetuate an international Communist conspiracy that all pseudo-Japanese websites are run from the US? Because I delight in misleading readers of my blog about the geographical locations of e-commerce sites?

I just got it wrong... I was expecting a US site, and nothing that I saw/happened to read on it before posting this contradicted that. I'm afraid that cleverly designed Flash sites are wasted on me, because I just inadvertently ignore large chunks of them (like the large black section at the bottom of the page which says they are in Japan).

I'd love to, but unfortunately am cash challenged, and have to spend my money on heating and building goods rather than pretty boxes (this makes me sad :()

But at the end of it you'll have a glorious, period cottage while I'll just have a slightly pretentious lunch ;)

This made me laugh - thank you ;)
