And then she's boxing clever
I live in a block of flats, and it's not uncommon to find parcels left on the doormat outside "my" front door. This is fine, I don't think the other 9 households in my block are liable to steal my parcels.
However, I think it's technically against the Royal Mail's own rules. It's hard to tell, because their delivery people constantly ignore the rules anyway. But, in this particular case, I don't mind because I think it's safe enough and it means I don't have to battle my way to the sorting office.
Wednesday's postman clearly felt a little guilty at leaving my parcel on the doormat, so he very carefully made sure that it was completely hidden from prying eyes:

Postmen can be weird.

A friend in need's a friend indeed
Re: A friend in need's a friend indeed
Actually, I just sat on the landing and laughed for a while before gathering myself together and opening the door... I kind of like the idea that the postman did it because he thought it was funny, rather than useful.

One particular PlayStation game from Amazon lived under the doormat for months. After the first day it was quite flat.
I'd assumed it was lost in transit or 'left on porch' - as did Amazon, who replaced it no questions asked.
We were all quite surprised when it was eventually discovered when we decided to shake the dust out of the mat... :-)
