- I'm moderately sure on this one. It would have been very unusual, and I'm sure I remember looking back through to the kitchen as I switched the light off on the way up to bed.

Burglars (who were not in the mood for stealing things?)
- I did wonder. When we were burgled before it was by people walking in in the night, and taking selected items which weren't immediately obvious. Both doors were locked this time, though.
I think it's just One Of Those Things. I'm going with lathany's suggestion and blaming Ryan. Bloody parents who don't keep their kids in order, and let them roam around miles from home closing other people's doors :)
