Should've known better than to cheat a friend
It's Friday, it's about 3 o'clock. It's time to go underneath the covers (with the lights out).
I always recommend listening to a cover version without knowing what or who it is, so click on the link before reading ahead...
Today's cover version [link to mp3 expired]
The Boy Least Likely To covering Faith, originally by George Michael
I don't know much about The Boy Least Likely To. Except that their name is scrawled among the graffiti on the toilet wall in the Luminaire, which is a pretty good recommendation.
Which reminds me: Waaaah! The lovely Luminaire! Waaaaaaah!
When I first heard this cover, I was fairly dismissive. Meh. Sounds kind of like George Michael. Next!
However, I've warmed to it. In place of George Michael's suave, cooler-than-thou performance we have something which breaks down into a goofy, comb-and-paper solo in the middle. It's got plinky plonky bits! And handclaps!
While George Michael's version is a beautifully-groomed Afghan, this is a Lab-cross gambolling round your feet, waiting for you to throw that stick.

I've never heard of them.
For some reason That Other Song now turns up in books of sax music. Yuck.

The TGC means that most interesting gigs will be on a Tuesday, when I'm not allowed out :(
