Come play my game, I'll test ya!

It's Friday, it's about 3 o'clock. It's time to go underneath the covers (with the lights out).

I always recommend listening to a cover version without knowing what or who it is, so click on the link before reading ahead...

Today's cover version [Link to cover version expired]

That was Jimmy Eat World covering Firestarter, originally by The Prodigy.

Very, very busy at work today. Please to be writing own blurb about track.

It sounds an awful lot like last week's to me. Is it a caching problem at my end?

[identity profile] venta.livejournal.com 2010-04-30 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
That's very strange. I'm not sure what's going on. Give me a minute...

I am a muppet, that is what is going on. File now uploaded to correct location, should be good to go. Can't check, because I'm being outwitted by my company's webcache :(

Now I can hear it! I quite like it, but it does seem to remind me of something - did they (or someone similar) do a fully acoustic version of this (or something similar)?

I'm being outwitted by my company's webcache

Should this ever arise again, be aware that you can do this:

http://www.blacktreacle.com/utc.mp3?absolutely_anything_you_like

...and this will dodge the cache because it doesn't know that the query parameter is being ignored at the server end and so has to assume it's a new page!

Yup - great trick. we use it all the time at work to defeat our Akamai caching service. It updates quite quickly - but not quickly enough for editing purposes...

I'm getting last week's too, although drat, I've just spoiled myself for this week. Hard reload doesn't fix it.

Still, I like last weeks, so happy to hear it again :) I think I'm going to have to go buy that CD single.

Arse. Try again ?
Being outwitted by own webcache here, but moderately confident that the right one is now in the right place.

Yup, fixed. Wow, that's very different!

Mm, Ilike that (and the original, obv.) Interesting. I don't know this band other than by repute, and tbh it's not made me go and seek them out, but it's easy on the ear.

Laughed out loud (I mean really laughed out loud, not just typed “LOL” into a computer) when I twigged.

I like it. Had vague hopes of Radiohead at the very start with the synths, but that went away when the singing began.
