Wow. A charity single I actually like:
(Won't be to everybody's taste, but hey, it's better than the horrible version of Everybody Hurts.)
It's fun to play spot-the-star in the video, but if you're curious, Wikipedia has a list (search that page for 'Haiti'). Who knew Shane McGowan had such clout?

Date: 2010-03-12 11:45 am (UTC)I wasn't quite sure of it at the beginning, old Shane sure shows what drinking can do to a man, but overall it's fabulous.
Actually listening again, without watching the video, I love it even more. Musically it's brilliant, but what could you expect with that lot involved? And it's fab from the very first note.
Thanks for posting it, I rarely catch the radio these days, and might have missed it completely.

Date: 2010-03-12 12:53 pm (UTC)I guess - beyond the obviousnesses - I don't know much about Shane McGowan, and thus mostly think of him as an iracsible and toothless drunkard. Obviously you can be those things as well as a fine songwriter :) Perhaps I should further investigate Mr McGowan.
