At the cinema last night, I discovered that there's a film being made of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Did everyone else know this ? Why didn't you tell me ?

This makes me happy.

Unfortunately, from the look of the trailer, it isn't necessarily going to be a good film.

Oh, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Pirates. Zombies. It's bound to be a winner :)

Thanks for the link

Ah. I had been wondering who Sean Connery was playing as "the world's greatest adventurer". It's Allan Quartermain. Yup, that makes sense.

Pirates

The IMDB page has, as the second line on the cast list:

Ben Wilson (V) .... Seedy Prisoner

Presumably, as a main character (since he's not in the "rest of the cast listed alphabetically" section). Wow, a character who is so Seedy that that's his name! I'm sure I shouldn't be, but I'm actually impressed.

Well I knew. It will be a disappointment though.

This whole Hellblazer movie thing seems to have disappeared into the Hollywood mist which may be a good thing, it might end up with different casting rumours and not moved to New York.

I knew! And I didn't tell you because, er, you didn't ask. Or maybe it was because I thought it was funnier not to. Yeah, that was probably it.

And yes, I'm also looking forward to Pirates of the Caribbean. Using the link topic of Orlando Bloom: I got some Two Towers Top Trumps yesterday (try saying that when you're drunk) and we observed that Legolas was the only character in the entire pack who didn't have a trade mark sign after his name. Try finding a possible use for that information if you can!

I saw the trailer quite a while ago, but it looked a bit pants, which was why I didn't mention it. :)

My friendslist has been full of "LXG" speculation for months. I thought it best not to spread the information around, of course, preferring to quietly wince.

Film ?!

Look 'ere - Kevin O'Neill's been my favourite comicbook artist ever since Nemesis. Why on earth would I want to see a film remake featuring none of his work ? Eh ?!

Look on the bright side, when a film like LXG is made, even if it's *tripe*, it may provide incentive for a new audience to seek out the graphic novel and think "Ooooh...". It may even be lighthearted and enjoyable tripe...
