[Poll #1410854]

Remember, kids: voting is just like a giant tickybox.

You should post a similar poll later, to see how many of the "intend to vote later" still intend to vote later ;-)

If it's any time before 8pm I'll probably still be in that category.

If only it apeared in my LJ feed =;-)

You would think they could have sussed online voting by now, wouldn't you?

[identity profile] ulfilias.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 11:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah....but if they did we'd have the Jedi party in power !

Failing to see a problem with that.

It's why you need ID cards. Honest.

[grin]

Sadly, it pretty much is, it's the only argument for them and the current planned implementation won't actually do it, but...

Aye. [sigh]

Isn't some or all of today's electoral process based on Single Transferable Vote? In which case more of a sophisticated tickybox?

[identity profile] onebyone.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Euro-election is a radio button (closed party list), county council elections are a bit more tickybox (multiple-vote FPP). I don't know about anything else: there are some mayoral elections going on.

I believe some countries have STV for their MEPs, but we don't.

[identity profile] cardinalsin.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
We didn't get any county council elections round our way so it was all radio-button :o(

and I wanted to vote for the roman party :o(

But you can treat it like a tickybox if you want to :)

It was a particularly oversized ballot this time.

-ve: I'm on a training course, so I left in a hurry.
+ve: It should end earlier than my usual working hours, so no problem nipping to the end of the road and checking that box.

Heh - you know what I'm like about tickyboxes ... [grin]

In my defence, I have been abroad for a looooong time.

I've just changed my entry and the lead has changed hands. If only you could do that in real elections...

I...

am registered to vote in a place about seven hours and £150 round trip from where I am, and did not get organised enough to sort out a postal vote. This is largely because I didn't think a single vote for a party mattered very much. However, now that I realise that a vote against a party is very important, I will certainly be careful to register for a postal vote before next time.

(You didn't have a ticky box for this option.)

Whatever happened to the Monster Raving Loony Party? There seemed to be just about every other option on the 18" Euro voting form, including some which made a lot less sense than the MRLP...
