Already ?

Blimey. Is it Christmas already ? My apologies for the long silence on here, and the abrupt disappearance of The Box. Life has been quite exceptionally fraught of late, and LJ is one of the things which has gone by the board.

I'm now home at my parents' for Christmas, so with luck a little more lazing will ensue. Though quite slowly, since the conveniently unsecured neighbour's wireless has gone away and I'm in dial-up land :(

I've been working from (the parents') home today, meaning I've been tied to the laptop and my contributions to Christmas preparations have thus far been limited to facetious suggestions. Rather disappointingly, only one has come close to being adopted: I tried to persuade the mother to ice a suitable passage from - say - Luke's gospel onto the Christmas cake in shorthand. She impolitely declined, but did add a Pitman rendition of 'Happy Christmas' to the longhand version she'd written in pink icing. At least she says that's what those squiggly bits are.

Stop thief!

Well, that's the trouble with these unsecured networks... at least the old style ones were tied to the wall with a bit of wire :)

Hope all is OK?

Although the tree never goes up before tomorrow - right?

Yes, serious Christmas frenzy begins tomorrow. Don't worry, there'll be some waffling on here about festive trivialities ;)

And yes, all is OK, thanks. In fact it's looking slightly good, but it's been a rather ropey year and - latterly - very low on time.

Technically, the answer to your question is "no" - as I write this, Christmas is still in fact tomorrow. What *I* don't understand is how we got straight here from last Christmas in only about three months. Shouldn't it be March or April, instead of December again already?
