Yes, I have sent it to http://thedailywtf.com/.

Captured on slicethepie.com, a site with a really rather flaky interface:

Y'know, I think I know why the app gave up rendering the progress bar.

I see this a lot with online games too (scores and level numbers rendered as NaN). Invariably fine comedy!

(It's caused by the fact that recent versions of Flash return the string "NaN" from a toString() call on any as-yet-undefined Number, whereas outside a debugging environment it would be much better if it threw an exception.)

You've never heard of the "Review track to find out!"? Their eponymously titled first album also featured an equally eponymously titled debut single.

Great stuff. Sort of electro-baroque punk with heavy gabba jazz influences.

:)

The 'Review track to find out!'s are deliberate - you don't get told the artist or track name, as reviews are supposed to be done anonymously, based on merit, yada yada.

Aha. That explains it. I was a bit surprised to actually see NaN rather than some horrible crashy mess. I think you're right, though, that an exception might have been more use.

On the ticket on the shelf containing washing machines at Sainsbury's the other day I was interested to see that the price was presented along with the price per unit, and the price per unit was NaN.

You and I know what NaN means. It amuses me to think what the shoppers who do not made of it.

I just regret not being fast enough, when watching the SpaceX launch webcast, to take a screenshot when their video server crashed and I ended up looking at a OSX desktop, complete with mouse pointer, with a 'This application has terminated unexpectedly' dialogue in the middle of it.

I remember being vaguely impressed with their desktop background, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was...

(Also, at Beijing airport I *did* see one of their huge LED matrix screens with a Windows error box in the middle of it. Probably not a good place to haul out a camera.)

One of our reconstruction programs will happily tell you that your crystal volume is NaN nm wide. It crashes when you ask it to display a scale bar NaN/4 nanometres across though.
