On the corner of Merton Street, opposite whatever the Eastgate calls itself these days, there was this morning:

A glass case full of bananas. Just standing by itself on the pavement.

A glass case full of surrealists later came zooming down the street on rollers, collided with the glass cases of bananas and ended up all sprawled all over the place. Instant Dadaist slapstick.

Obviously a student protest...

...against the inhuman conditions in which one grows bananas. Or the inbanana condition.

That would make a great title for a book:

'The Inbanana Condition'

It'll be the first Neo-Southern Magical Gothic Realism novel I write.
