OK, I've done my bit. I've bought copies of We're All Going To Die, and Christmas Number One.

I've even fallen victim to last.fm's blatant attempt to rig the charts, and bought a copy of Lips Are Unhappy. Though, listening to it for the first time, I fear it might actually be bobbins. What do you expect for 40p ?

Anyway, the gist of this is that if there's bilge at the top of the charts this Christmas, it's not my fault. Go and do thou likewise.

Though, of course, in this downloady world there's nothing to stop "great" hits of yesteryear hitting the number one spot. Hopefully, if that happens, Radio1's recent balls-up will at least ensure we get Fairytale of New York rather than some heinous Slade nonsense.

If you're not into single-buying, you could at least pop along to youtube and watch The Black Arts' Christmas Number One. It is, officially, the smuggest video in the world. Ever.

Yeah. I picked those up yesterday morning. I had to go to HMV, though - the actually good record shop had sold out of them. Very good, both of them.

Malcom's vid's here.

I haven't heard anyone playing Low's christmas anthem this year, which is a bitter indictment of our society.
