Hey, kids, give it up for Sammy the Salmon

Does anyone else think that the latest Chemical Brothers' song was released for a bet ? A song about the life cycle of a salmon - with instructions on how to dance like a salmon - is every bit as awful as it sounds.

Admittedly, "Oh my God what have I done/Got a brain like bubblegum" was hardly epic poetry, but at least the previous single could hold its head up as a serious piece of dance music. This one - currently at an undeserved number 27 - sounds like some sort of ghastly parody produced by a government initiative to make year 7s think biology is fun.

I don't even understand how it made it on to the album, never mind being released as a single.

I don't think it was released for a bet. I don't think it got that far. I think all can be explained by the simple statement 'Got a brain like bubblegum', which can perhaps be regarded as a spiritual testimony.

I'm an old f**t, and don't like many modern-ish bands; an exception to this is Massive Attack, and I always feel slightly peeved when they are bracketed with Chemical Brothers, cos for I don't think they're in the same league.

Well, its release should certainly have been followed by the phrase "Oh my God, what have I done?" :)
